ATH5K KERNEL DRIVER DOWNLOAD

So this was one of his first experiences with linux, we nearly had to give up installing, because of the broken network connection. They haven't updated it in years. That's a small sample size, it would be nice to see if other AR users have the same pattern. The drivers for Intel's cards are all pretty good, but the firmware has been a source of instabilities and trouble in the past for me. How do I install the ath5k driver? The hardware clearly has some kind of lightweight microcode, because it is able to do things like sniff the TIM field out of beacons automatically although not reliably, last I checkedand it parses packets well enough to do encryption and decryption on the fly.

I don't have other tests aside from trying other packet sizes, but if you use this computer daily you would quickly notice sluggish performance if you were affected by the problem.

I don't know sth5k about the driver to know whether that is possible.

What exactly is holding this bug back? Atheros cards are basically "non-firmware" because the drivers do not require knowledge of the firmware.

For most modern drivers, the kernel asks user space to provide the firmware image and the driver then uploads it to the device. This is a collection of bug reports both unresolved and resolved to help users track issues and to find patches for fixes which have not yet been merged.
